A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Michael, Lily, and Gabrielle have recently moved to the frigid town of Haven under tragic circumstances. As they begin to rebuild their lives in this new home and meet the townsfolk of Haven, they quickly discover that not everything is what it appears to be. Michael struggles with dreams of dark waters and an unknown ancient evil resting beneath the cold waves. Are these simply dreams or are they a premonition of things to come?

Inspired by the classic point & click adventure games of yesteryear, Arkhangel: The House of the Seven Stars is a story told through the eyes of a family that has recently moved to an isolated town in the frozen wilderness. Explore, unearth dark mysteries, solve puzzles, engross yourself with deep lore, and interact with a large cast of characters in this rich and layered narrative.

  • 3D point & click adventure game created with Unity3D.
  • Multiple methods of input that the player can choose from: full point & click navigation (recommended), direct input with camera relative controls, and direct input with player relative controls (tank controls).
  • Deep narrative with abundant lore to discover and absorb.
  • Gorgeous environments in a moody and atmospheric world.
  • Large cast of characters to interact with.
  • Cinematic, live orchestral musical score by composer and conductor Chad Seiter (ReCore, Super Lucky's Tale, Star Trek, FRINGE, Lego Jurassic World, The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses).
  • Game controllers supported.
  • Available on Linux, Mac, and Windows.

WINTER NIGHT GAMES was borne from the collective imagination of two dorky brothers. A lifelong interest in video games, pen & paper role playing games, and horror stories compelled us to start our own company, where we make the kind of games we like to play and telling the stories we like to tell. WNG came out of what started as a collaborative effort to write a horror novella. While iterating and fleshing out the structure of the story, it became apparent this story would lend itself to being told within the medium of an adventure game. A larger framework was then conceived, which could support an overarching story that could be told through various gaming media, both digital and analog.

A SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER:
While there isn't overt gore or on-screen violence in Arkhangel, there is subject matter and imagery that some might find disturbing. This is a mature game experience.

**AA was designed with Win10 in mind. While previous versions of Windows might technically run AA, they are not supported by us at this time so play on older versions of Windows at your own risk!**

    * Special Note for Linux Users** - If you have an nVidia card and find some games have strange black dots across the screen, then we highly recommend adding the following to your Launch Options for Arkhangel, "-force-glcore42 -force-clamped". That should get you going.

Any chance of getting that Walkthrough posted elsewhere?

its nice but whenever I enter the controls settings I cant exit and I have to shut down the whole game

Thanks for the free version of your game!

You betcha!  Thanks for checking it out!

    :-)

In case any Linux users have this issue i'll explain it here. So the game wouldn't initially launch on my Linux machine. The error message in Terminal stated it couldn't find or launch "mscorlib.dll". The folder structure it wanted for the file was "Data>Managed>mono>2.0" but the file in question was just under the Managed folder with the other folders missing. I created a folder called mono (it wants lower case m) and in that created a folder called 2.0 and copied the .dll file there. The game then started just fine.

And The Controller Support Is Partial.

Yes, you need to select controller as your Input Type in the Options page to have full support.  It doesn't automatically detect it.

I have a problem with this game. I Have The Windows Download Of It But It brings Me To Steam Only.

That's strange.  Which OS are you running?  I'll take a peek!

    (+1)

Just an update, we went ahead and did a full update to all executables.  It shouldn't attempt a connection to Steam and more.  Strange!

Are there any plans to bring the Linux version to Itch.io ?

    (+1)

Absolutely!  There needs to be some work under the hood to have it ready for itch.io, but we will 100% be releasing it.

Fantastic. I'll pick up a copy here when it's ready !

Just a heads up that the linux build for Arkhangel is now live!

Awesome news ! I'll be grabbing it Friday on Payday and hopefully giving you full price despite the sale.

    That's incredibly kind!  Thank you!

how long is the game? it looks really good

Hey there!  I would say on average people complete the game anywhere between 4-8 hours... It depends on how much lore you end up reading and that sort of thing...as there is a substantial amount!
